eb5 loves Girls, Inc!
On Friday, March 17th, Carrie and I spent a few hours with the amazing Pacific Northwest team of Girl's Inc at their Power of the Purse event. We had such a wonderful time. In the months prior to the event, many of Portland's most notable leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists worked with local purse designers to create a one-of-a-kind handbags. Each piece is a unique work of art that was then auctioned off during a live fashion show this past Friday. The show presented the fabulous handbags, the creative individuals who inspired the design, and the bright stars of the evening: the Girls Inc. girls! Before the big event, eb5 participated in the pre-show festivities where participants and guests got to meet tons of vendors (like us!) who were selling goods and services during a "Pop Up Shop." We loved educating everyone there about our products, and a percentage of everything sold went right back to Girl's Inc. My favorite aspect of the Pop Up Shop were the "Mystery Bags" where all of the vendors donated products and guests bid on them without knowing what mysterious items were inside!! We were proud to have many of our full sized products in those cool bags.
We love being involved because Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. They make an impact in the communities they serve by equipping girls with the skills and confidence to access a bright and economically-independent future. By focusing on the whole girl from ages 6-18, they provide life-changing after school programs and experiences that help girls grow up to be healthy, educated, and independent. They train volunteer leaders, offer research-based curricula, and pro-girl environments to provide girls with the tools, confidence, and support to realize their own power.
